The Drunken Pot Celebrating Chinese New Year
with Auspicious Specialties Welcoming Year of the Rat
THE ULTIMATE DRUNKEN HOT POT!

Trendy hot pot specialist bringing good fortune and Instagram cheer
with exclusive new hot pot and delightful dumplings from 20 January to 8 February 2020

Trendy hotpot destination The Drunken Pot is celebrating Chinese New Year with a range of auspicious specialties to ring in the Year of the Rat.

A brand new hotpot crafted exclusively for this upcoming festive season at the sister restaurants in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay is Flowers on Fish Maw & Chicken with Chinese Medicine Pot.

Served from 20 January to 8 February 2020 at HK$268, the hotpot of fish maw and chicken with Chinese medicine is composed especially to symbolise good fortune – from fish-shaped squid paste, bringing more earnings than spending in the upcoming year, to lotus, chicken, mushroom and Jinhua ham

A delightful surprise is also in store on serving, with mini-Tientsin Pakchoi miraculously blooming like a flower, representing prosperity blossom, when the hot broth is poured into the pot.

“Raise the Red Lantern” (HK$88) of artistically-carved carrot and chives stuffed with cheese and squid paste amazingly replicate hanging Chinese New Year lanterns.

In honour of the Year of the Rat, The Golden Rat Dumplings (HK$88) are crafted like the first of all Chinese zodiac animals, with both meat and vegetarian options, either pork and crab roe or vegan pork and asparagus lettuce.

Big Four Happiness (HK$88) is a dim sum-style steamer basket presentation of steamed vegetarian dumplings with separated pockets of carrot, sweet corn, black fungus and asparagus lettuce, served as a perfect appetiser

Since abstaining from eating meat on the first day of Chinese New Year is believed to enhance longevity, the Evergreen Vegan Pot is launched with over 30 choices of vegetable and mushroom options.

Also on the menu is ‘Lo Hei’ (HK$128), The Drunken Pot’s contemporary version of the auspicious ‘prosperity toss’ salad, with a stunning dry-ice presentation of freshest ingredients such as shredded salmon, tuna, cucumber, carrots, dragon fruit and eggs.

For a sinfully sweet ending to any hot pot feast, a new chocolate mousse dessert named "The Drunken Dog" (HK$68) is decadently velvety and creamy in a choice of two flavours, matcha (green tea) or dark chocolate.

To round-off the festive celebrations, The Drunken Pot has recently welcomed veteran noodle master Chef FK Ho to entertain guests demonstrating his noodle pulling skills – with a wonderfully chewy texture perfect to enjoy with any choice of dishes.

The Drunken Pot (Causeway Bay) is open throughout Chinese New Year from noon to midnight.

The Drunken Pot (Tsim Sha Tsui) is closed only on the first day of lunar new year, with business as usual otherwise from midday to midnight.

A range of hot pot delivery sets are also launched to celebrate Chinese New Year with a 20% discount on the price of a la carte menu orders through the festive season until 29 February 2020 – and free delivery for orders of at least HK$2,500 after the 20% discount.

True to its ‘new age’ culture, deliveries are in recyclable ‘picnic boxes’ of utensils, reusable table cloth and glasses and wet tissues with free rental of the pot & Iwatani Gas Cassette Cooker with deposit of HK$230 and HK$380.

Complimentary condiments also include chopped green onion, dry onion, coriander, chopped peanut, chili and more; along with complimentary signature sauces including homemade soy sauce, homemade satay sauce and homemade XO sauce.

Orders can simply be made via website : www.tdpdelivery.com.

“Since launching in 2015, The Drunken Pot has become a social media phenomenon known for serving authentic hot pot broth recipes in contemporary presentation.

"In the Year of the Rat, we continue to bring imaginative ideas for some light-hearted cheer to Hong Kong this Chinese New Year,” said The Drunken Pot founder Vivien Shek.

Both restaurants reinvent the hotpot tradition, bursting with energy and contemporary style against the backdrop of trendy ‘street art’ and chill-out music with spicy urban grooves at The Drunken Pot Tsim Sha Tsui, themed after a rustic fishing market at 2/F, No.8 Observatory Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, and The Drunken Pot Causeway Bay, with breath-taking views over Victoria Harbour at 27/F, V Point, 18 Tang Lung Street, Causeway Bay.
