CHEF WAN AND DATO KEE HUA CHEE ALSO THE PERFECT COMBO---ONE COOKS, ONE BLOGS!

The Perfect Combo:
Form and Style Plus Delectable Malaysian Cuisine!

When De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan opened its doors to the public on April 17, 2019, it literally raised the fine-dining bar for Malaysian cuisine.

Describing the whole taste and ambience as vibrant, colourful and exciting is just putting it mildly.

These are not just words expressed by the management team members, but were shared by our clientele.

De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan is deliciously swanky and they don’t make any apologies for that, looking at the reviews and compliments received from the clients who have dined or held an event at their premises.

With a name like De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan, that description and adjectives can only be attributed to one such person: multiple award-winning chef, Datuk (Dr) Redzuawan Ismail or better known as Chef Wan -- the person noted for Malaysia’s good food, being the Food Ambassador to Tourism Malaysia and World Celebrity Chef.

De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan is no ordinary Malaysian restaurant. It does not only offer you authentic classic Malaysian cuisine, it presents to you a lifestyle.

That’s exactly what the clientele said -- from the Prime Minister himself to celebrities and that makcik from the suburbs --- who had a taste of the De.Wan experience when it opened its doors.

They opined that it was certainly a place to meet, greet and eat, and something to note as a must-have memory.

The décor brings you back to a time when its de rigeur to dress up for dinner, when you feel like tilting your little finger when you sip the tea, yet the food reminds you so much of mum’s cooking or Mak Cik Rosmah’s special rendang back in the kampung. Or should that be Salmah as less controversial in case you are reminded of a midgety, fat person with a face that was once genuinely pretty before the surgeons ruined it.

The food here is wholesome goodness, next to fine art. Guests have an option to order the a la carte dishes for single servings, or a few dishes for sharing like how traditional Malaysian cuisine is savoured.

And that’s just the restaurant. De.Wan 1958 also has in its portfolio an event hall like no other -- a state-of-the-art venue designed for an immersive event experience.

Spanning over a spacious 13,000 sq feet of space at The LINC, Kuala Lumpur, De.Wan 1958 is not only a restaurant to savour diversified Malaysian cuisine, this is also where you can build a lifetime of memories by hosting your events at the hall.

Be it a corporate meeting, product launch, art exhibition, charity gala, birthday, anniversary or even the wedding you’ve been dreaming of, this is the perfect venue to celebrate all your important milestones.

In his usual inimitable style, Chef Wan believes  "food is an evolution that reflects the history of culture and through food you will find friendship and fulfilment.”

After spending more than two decades abroad, Chef Wan finally returned home to Kuala Lumpur, the city where it all began.

“The inspiration was really simple. We want to redefine Malaysian cuisine and food culture.

As many of you know, one of the most important goals for me is to raise awareness of Malaysian food at the international level. Our cuisine is full of flavours and colours, influenced by the diverse cultures our country is blessed with, yet not many people are aware what an authentic Malaysian cuisine tastes like,” said Dato Chef Wan.

Chef Wan is the first Malaysian chef to have his own show, received prestigious international awards, authored a dozen cookbooks and hosted numerous TV shows.

The Space

De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan is located on Level 2 of The LINC KL, a hip and trendy lifestyle retail centre in town. Inspired by greenery, the mall is designed to bring visitors back to nature with its luscious green plants and decorations.

The interior design concept of the restaurant comes from the context of Chef Wan’s fun and cheery character. Colours from a tropical palette are chosen to evoke the feel of sun, freshness and cool vibes in an urban setting.

The entire restaurant and event hall can accommodate up to 450 seated diners, 600 in theatre style setting or 650 standing guests. It is fully fitted with audio-visual equipment.

When the occasion calls for, they can provide security, valet parking services and red carpet entryway to make VVIPs feel extra special.

Projection Mapping

Apart from offering world class Malaysian cuisine, the team members believe in the overall dining experience.

De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan has an audio-visual production team who can produce captivating and stunning arrays of 360-degree projection mapping. The entire visual effects will definitely enchant the guests, leaving lasting impressions that will make your clients’ events the talk of the town.

Choose from existing event projection mapping packages from their standard themes or customise your own to bring your vision to reality.
